Our story

The word Sattva comes from Sanskrit — it means purity, goodness, and clarity. It is the quality of things that are wholesome and true. We chose this name deliberately, because it captures everything we believe a grocery store should be: honest about what is in the food, careful about where it comes from, and genuinely committed to the people it serves.

Sattva Mart was founded with a clear purpose — to make authentic Indian and South Asian groceries easier to find, easier to trust, and easier to enjoy for households across the UK. Whether you are recreating a dish your grandmother made, cooking for a festival, or simply stocking your everyday pantry with ingredients that actually taste the way they should, we are here to make that possible.

We know how frustrating it can be to settle for a substitute when you need the real thing. The wrong variety of dal. Basmati that doesn't have that fragrance. Spices that have clearly sat in a warehouse for too long. We started Sattva Mart to solve exactly that problem — by sourcing directly from trusted manufacturers and suppliers in India and bringing those products to your door without compromise.

It is built by someone who has spent their career inside this industry, understanding it from every angle — from the supplier's warehouse to the shop floor.

That experience is backed by a strong financial and commercial background — our founder is a qualified Chartered Accountant — meaning the business is run with the kind of rigour and transparency that protects our customers as well as our suppliers.

Sattva Mart operates as a UK-based importer, distributor, and e-commerce retailer. We manage the full supply chain — from sourcing products directly from manufacturers in India and other key markets, through customs clearance and quality inspection, to storage and delivery across the United Kingdom.

This end-to-end model means we have full visibility over everything we sell. When a product reaches your door, it has been through our supply chain — not passed through a chain of unknown hands. That gives us confidence in the quality and authenticity of what we offer, and it should give you confidence too.
